Geothermal Installation For Fort Wayne Indiana & Surrounding Communities
How a Geothermal System Works
Are you looking for an efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly heating and cooling system? Geothermal is the greenest way to go. WaterFurnace geothermal systems use the free, renewable energy found in your own back yard to save up to 70% on heating, cooling, and hot water costs.
The Greenest Heating & Cooling System Available
At Gibson’s Heating & Plumbing we have installed geothermal systems in new existing homes and on lots of all sizes.
Depending on the size of the lot and terrain we utilize two methods of installation:
Horizontal Loop InstallationGibson’s employs this method of installation when there is enough land available to run loops across long stretches of property. Depending on the size of the system, pipes are installed in trenches dug approximately six feet deep and 100 to 600 feet long. This method of installation is ideal for homes under new construction as well as homes in the country with open yard space.
Vertical Loop InstallationThis method of installation is used when space is limited like smaller city lots. It is also the perfect installation option for homes that have an established lawn and landscaping as there is minimal disruption. Small holes are bored to a depth of between 100 and 400 feet. Vertical loops are then installed and connected to the house by a horizontal underground pipe.
Open Loop InstallationIn our area we have an abundant supply of well water. With an open loop it is cost effective on your front end investment. It requires only a single discharge line. This discharge line can go to several areas i.e.) a pond , lake, river, field tile, ditch, creek. Open loop systems also achieve higher efficiency factors due to the constant temperature of the well water.
Inside your home, the geothermal unit is not much larger than your existing furnace and it’s a lot quieter. We are the area experts in geothermal heating and cooling and a geothermal system installed by Gibson’s Heating & Plumbing is the most efficient, energy saving and environmentally friendly way to heat and cool your home.
